adding injury to injury

After last weeks narrow escape from Ash's shoe, this Sunday as I was getting ready for Church, Ashley flipped a rolled-up sock into my other eye causing a mild throbbing of pain that has lasted for a few days. I am now considering wearing goggles around the house as a form of personal protection. We're excited that we finally get a break and get to go to St.George this weekend. It will be nice to have some peace and quiet, read a book, and avoid the snow.

Santa's...I Mean....OUR Little Helper

Addy loves to be a BIG helper...She says, "Me help Mommy." (or Daddy or whoever she is wanting to help).
The other day she wanted to help me do the dishes. She was so happy to get to put on the yellow gloves and use the brush to help me!....Now if only I could be as excited to do the dishes:) She did make it a lot more entertaining and fun:)

A Princess Sleeps Here

We recently have changed Addy's room from little lambies to Princess Ballerina:) What gave us the idea was because my sister Steph and her fam gave Addy this comforter set for Christmas and also, my sister Erin gave Addy a cute princess piggy bank...mix them together and what to you get? Thats right!...Princess Ballerina room! The things hanging on the canopy are felt coasters I turned into decoration!
We weren't sure how this method of toy organization would work out, but it has been awesome! We've had a hard time keeping Addy's room cleaned and so we were always trying to figure out how to organize the toys so it would be easier to keep the room picked up. This way we made different catagories: Blocks, Sports, Barbies, Stuffed Animals, Books, Dress up and Pretend, Books, Misc, and Learning Toys. (Jason doesn't know how he feels about the GI Joes being in the Barbie catagory)...lol. The reason it works so well is because we only let Addy and the other kids we tend have one tote out at a time and when they are done playing with one tote they put all the toys back in...then they can play with the stuff in another tote. Luckily they have all wanted to play with the same stuff at the same time. Its really been a good method...its been about a month now! Maybe I should buy totes for the rest of the house:)
I was checking on Addy in her new room during nap time to see if she was sleeping yet, but she was still reading her book...
...or so I thought she was reading still:)

food review: Domino's new pizza

Domnino's is currently celebrating their 50th anniversary as a pizza franchise. Instead of resting on their laurels of what has worked in the past, they have decided to revamp their pizza from the crust up. In todays' economy, its a fresh way to gain market share and offer new interest for past customers who have moved on to cheaper and better tasting pizza. I am a sucker for a cheap promotion and trying new foods. Last night we did their 2 medium 2-topping pizza deal for $12.88. We ordered one ham n pineapple and one mushroom/sausage. I definitley like their new pizza much more than their previous attempts. I thought the addition of garlic butter to the crust was a hit and the crust wasn't overly crunchy. The sauce is also a fresh upgrade though I don't think the added red pepper flakes offered much of a kick and was hardly noticeable. The sauce definitely shed its "ketchup" taste label and is applied more overall. The new cheese was also somewhat of a disappointment. I couldn't distingush a "hint of provolone" in the taste. My main complaint with dominos is still all the little crumbs on the bottom of the crust, not a big fan of them. Overall, I will consider purchasing them again if its a good deal but their changes will not be enough to sway me from other places that offer pizza at a better price. On a side note, Ashley and I were discussing something the other night when I said something (I don't rememeber but it was probably flippant) when Ash kicked her leg up and allowed her shoe to travel over to the other couch where it promptly hit me in the eye. WHAT THE CRAP! Does anyone know how bad a shoe( pointed) to the eye feels? It hurts. I can still feel it a few days after. Needless to say, Ash is still full of surprises.

feeling good

Ash and I have decided to do the biggest loser challenge along with several family members. I'm mostly motivated by the opportunity to earn some cash but the health benefits will likewise be beneficial. Ash was able to find a good deal on a scale so we can track our weight loss better. When I went to check out, the cashier thought the coupon was a forgery and even after it went thru, she acted suspiscious. She told me what a good deal it was and I remarked that the only bad thing was that I would actually know how much I weighed. She then asked if she could guess my weight. I promptly flashed my wedding ring and let her guess. She guessed 50 lbs. less than what I weigh. Thats a nice feeling to at least look thin. I assume I either hold my weight well or I have a tumor which is carrying the bulk of the weight. If its the tumor, then I will name it Timmy.

Happy Anniversary Jason!

Look at this handsome hunk:)...Still as handsome as ever I have been blessed to have him as my hubby for 4 years today! What a memorable and awesome 4 years it has been! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful husband and also a sweet little girly:) I am so grateful for the blessings of the Temple and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives and that families can be together forever! We are so grateful to be blessed with the family and friends that we have:) Thanks for all you do and for helping us create some fun memories! When we asked Jason's Dad which picture he wanted from our wedding, he chose this one. He said he liked the doors:) We got a good laugh out of it because it was the doors he wanted a pic of and not us...lol. We're sure the doors aren't the ONLY reason he wanted the pic:) Atleast that is what we like to tell ourselves! I LOVE Willow Tree Angels and for our anniversary Jason got me one that is called "Anniversary". What a thoughtful gift! He has been reading the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" book series. I got him the first one for Christmas and he is already done with book 2 now! For our anniversary I got him 3 and 4. I would have got him 5 too, but it is only in hard cover for now and I figured since all the other ones were paperback we might as well keep them all the same. Have you read these books? What do you think?

movie review: Julie & Julia

Last night, we watched the Meryl Streep and Amy Adams movie entitled "Julie & Julia". At the beginning, I had little or no desire to watch this movie but Ash did go see Sherlock Holmes (4.5 stars) with me and brought me some wonton soup so I felt it would be fair to watch it with her. As a child, I remember watching Julia Child's cooking show with my mom and was really blown away by Meryl Streep portrayal of her and how good it was. It took Ash a little while to realize that the movie is set in two different time periods which once she knew cleared up a lot of her confusion. I enjoyed the movie and give it three stars. I will probably never watch it again but I was focused when it was on and stayed with the story. I would not classify it as a chick flick but somewhat of a documentary. I definitely had cravings for some french food afterwards and am planning on looking in my basement for her cooking book. I think the acting and scenes were top-notch and the director truly captured the exploits of Julie trying to learn to cook. I did think Amy Adams had a nappy haircut though.
